Indian benchmark indices shrugged off a flat opening to trade higher during Monday's mid-session, with the Sensex gaining 320 points (0.40%) to 80,177.86 and the Nifty rising 103 points (0.42%) to 24,466.55. The recovery follows a rare sixth consecutive weekly decline - a pattern seen only four times since 1990.
Adani Enterprises spearheaded the rally with a 4.63% surge to ₹2,279, while Tata Motors followed with a 2.89% gain. Financial heavyweight State Bank of India advanced 2.17%, contributing to the bullish momentum. Market breadth remained nearly balanced with 1,964 gainers against 2,023 decliners on the BSE.
